The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website.
Personal data are any data by which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use them for. It also explains how and for what purpose this happens.
Please note that data transmission over the internet, for example in email communication, may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
By using our website, you agree to the collection, processing and use of data in accordance with this privacy policy.
Right to information, deletion and restriction
You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, their origin and recipients and the purpose of processing, as well as a right to correction, restriction or deletion of these data. 2. Data collection on our website
How do we collect your data?
Some of your data are collected when you provide them to us, for example by entering information in a contact form or newsletter registration. Personal data, especially names, addresses and email addresses, are collected voluntarily.
Other data are collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. These are primarily technical data, such as your browser, operating system or the time of your visit. Collection happens automatically as soon as you enter our website. Data such as the pages or file names accessed and the date and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes without being directly associated with you personally.
What do we use your data for?
- Some data are collected to ensure the website is provided without errors. The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1), sentence 1(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- We use other data to answer contact enquiries and communicate with users. The legal basis is Article 6(1), sentence 1(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes listed above. Under no circumstances do we use the data collected to draw conclusions about you personally.
- Data may also be used to analyse user behaviour for audience measurement/marketing. A balancing of interests applies here: we have a legitimate interest in analysing usage of our online services so we can continually improve them and adapt them to our users’ interests.
Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes listed above. Under no circumstances do we use the data collected to draw conclusions about you personally.
Privacy policy for cookies
Our website uses cookies: small text files that store specific information relating to a user on their device while they use the website. Cookies make it possible to determine usage frequency and visitor numbers, analyse how pages are used and make our services more user-friendly. Cookies remain stored after a browser session ends and can be retrieved when the site is visited again.
We use cookies to collect statistics on website usage and optimise our services (see above). These cookies allow us to recognise automatically on a return visit that you have visited before. They are deleted automatically after a defined period.
The data processed through cookies are necessary for these purposes to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of third parties under Article 6(1), sentence 1(f) GDPR.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or so that a notice always appears before a new cookie is created. Completely disabling cookies may prevent you from using all the functions of our website.
Privacy policy for Google Analytics
The analysis/tracking measure described below is implemented on the basis of Article 6(1), sentence 1(f) GDPR. We use it to ensure our website is designed to meet users’ needs and continually optimised. We also use it to collect statistical information about website use and improve our services. These interests are considered legitimate under the provision cited above.
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. To disable Google Analytics, Google provides a browser plugin at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de . Google Analytics uses cookies: small text files that store specific user-related information on the user’s device. These allow Google to analyse use of our website. Information collected by the cookie about use of our pages, including your IP address, is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Please note that Google Analytics on this website has been extended with “gat._anonymizeIp();” to ensure anonymised collection of IP addresses (“IP masking”). When anonymisation is active, Google truncates IP addresses within EU member states or other states party to the EEA Agreement, so that your identity cannot be inferred. Only exceptionally is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google observes the data protection provisions of the “Privacy Shield” agreement, is registered with the US Department of Commerce’s Privacy Shield programme, and uses the information collected to evaluate use of our websites, prepare reports for us and provide other related services. Find out more at http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html.
Privacy policy for the contact form and other contact
When you contact us, for example through the contact form, email or telephone, we store the details from your enquiry and the data you provide (your email address and, where applicable, your name and telephone number) so we can contact you, answer your questions and respond to follow-up enquiries. We delete the data arising in this context once storage is no longer necessary, or restrict processing if statutory retention duties apply.
Otherwise, processing depends on the content of your enquiry.
Depending on that content, the legal basis is Article 6(1), sentence 1(b) GDPR or Article 6(1), sentence 1(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purpose of responding to your enquiry.
Data protection in applications and recruitment
We collect and process the personal data of people applying for a role in our company in order to administer the application process. The legal basis is Article 88 GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 of the German Federal Data Protection Act. Processing may also take place electronically, particularly when applicants send application documents electronically, for example by email. If we enter into a contract with an applicant, the data provided are stored to administer the contractual relationship in compliance with legal requirements.
Privacy policy for newsletter data
The following information explains the content of our newsletter, the registration, mailing and statistical evaluation procedures, and your right to object. By subscribing, you agree to receive the newsletter and to the procedures described.
To receive the newsletter offered on our website, you must provide an email address and information enabling us to verify that you own that address and agree to receive the newsletter. Additional data relate to your preferences for newsletter content. We use all these data solely to send the requested information and do not pass them to third parties.
You may withdraw your consent to storage of your data and email address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example through the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.
Newsletter content: we send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications containing advertising information (collectively “newsletters”) only with recipients’ consent or statutory permission. Where newsletter content is specifically described during registration, that description determines the scope of users’ consent. Otherwise, our newsletters contain information about us and our services.
Double opt-in and logging: registration uses a double opt-in process. After registering, you receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary to prevent anyone registering with someone else’s email address. Newsletter registrations are logged to demonstrate that registration meets legal requirements. This includes storing the times of registration and confirmation and the IP address. Changes to the data stored by the mailing service provider are also logged.
Registration data: providing your email address is sufficient to register. We optionally ask for a name so we can address you personally in the newsletter.
Newsletter distribution and associated performance measurement are based on recipients’ consent under Articles 6(1)(a) and 7 GDPR in conjunction with Section 7(2), no. 3 UWG, or, where consent is not required, on our legitimate interests in direct marketing under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Section 7(3) UWG.
Logging of the registration process is based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We seek to use a user-friendly, secure newsletter system that serves our business interests, meets users’ expectations and allows us to demonstrate consent.
Cancellation/withdrawal: you may cancel receipt of our newsletter, and thus withdraw your consent, at any time. An unsubscribe link appears at the end of every newsletter. On the basis of our legitimate interests, we may retain unsubscribed email addresses for up to three years before deleting them to demonstrate previously granted consent. Processing of these data is limited to the possible defence of claims. An individual deletion request is possible at any time, provided the former existence of consent is also confirmed.

Privacy policy for YouTube
Our website uses plugins from Google-operated YouTube. The site operator is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. Visiting one of our pages containing a YouTube plugin establishes a connection to YouTube’s servers, informing them which of our pages you have visited.
