We start at 17:00 with an informal get-together and sparkling wine, moving on at 17:30 towards the day’s highlight: a talk by Marietta Gädeke on “Devious tricks in communication and sales” . The German debating champion’s talk explores different aspects of communication and influence and their psychological background, helping you resist the professionals’ tricks. The day takes place under the banner WOMEN do business today! of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs initiative . As part of Entrepreneurship Week, the role-model women entrepreneurs declared 17 November a nationwide day of action to raise the visibility of female entrepreneurship and encourage other women to become self-employed through successful examples. Last year, Marietta Gädeke was also recognised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as a role-model entrepreneur — an honour shared by only five other women entrepreneurs in Rhineland-Palatinate. With a degree in media studies, wide international experience and a German debating championship, Marietta Gädeke is active in business nationally and internationally. In India, Israel, Europe and the Rhine-Main region, she works with and coaches primarily leaders. She has run her company for seven years, having founded Lilit Kommunikation while still at university. Today the company is successful in executive coaching focused on intercultural communication, female leadership and rhetoric, with university teaching assignments and individual social media and PR consulting. Current work also includes public relations for SchulKinoWochen Hessen. Recognition as a role-model entrepreneur is both recognition of outstanding entrepreneurship and a personal commitment. As role models for female entrepreneurship, these women share their inspiration and passion. At events with schoolgirls, apprentices, university students, graduates and other women interested in starting a business, they discuss the opportunities and demands of self-employment. Participants thus gain a realistic, deeply personal insight into everyday entrepreneurial life. The “FRAUEN unternehmen” initiative also makes women entrepreneurs’ achievements visible: their courage, commitment and success, and their contribution to competitiveness and economic growth in Germany.
